Question: What does “ordinary time” mean?
Answer: Ordinary time is basically any Sunday from th 2nd Sunday after Pentecost (the first Sunday after Pentecost is Trinity Sunday and celebrates our triune God) until All Saints Day. It is called “Ordinary Time” as there are no major events (such as Palm Sunday, Easter or Pentecost) during this time. It’s also known as the “green season” as all the cloths on the lectern, pulpit, and altar have green “dresses” on.
